Even though the rise of TikTok had one of its highest peaks while we were all in lockdown in early 2020, when mostly all generation Z were dancing and recording themselves to this viral app. Over the last two year the app has grown to be so much more than just dancing. Many people, organisations and businesses of all sizes have created content that has really proven to show economic benefits for them. How? Well, in this article we will show you some of the ways they have profited from TikTok’s algorithm and created amazing content that does not necessarily involve dancing.
Switch From Instagram to TikTok
First of all we need to address how more and more content is being produced for TikTok. For the past few months, Instagram has been trying to change its design and layout to look and feel like a video-based platform, favouring those who post more video content, like Reels. However, Instagram has faced quite a lot of backlash because many long-time users have seen how these new features and changes on Instagram’s algorithm have decreased the visibility of non-video content and many users do not base their content solely on video. To the point where even two of the most followed accounts on the platform, celebrities and entrepreneurs like Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, with over 600 million followers combined, posting their discontent with the new strategy of Instagram.
